Consultations
ave some questions? Want to make sure everyone is on the same page?
We do, too! Consultations can be an excellent way to
ensure that everyone responsible for a child's growth and education (the
team) is working together and is clear on the goals and objectives of
other team members. Sharing behavioral knowledge, progress notes, and
strategies for successfully working with a child and his family can
significantly impact that child's progress.
Consultations are available at the
request of a family who would like The Storybook Center to collaborate and/or discuss their family needs
with other family professionals. Consultations may also be requested by
professionals, provided the family
has a signed "Consent to Share Information" form on file with The
Storybook Center.
The Storybook Center is credentialed to consult on language and
literacy educational and environmental situations, as well as on special
needs services and the implementation of such services. Families or school districts may
request a consultation at an IFSP or IEP, due process hearing, etc.
Professionals may
request consultations about implementing an appropriate program for deaf and
hard-of-hearing students.
The Storybook Center
will consider taking on the overflow of other programs and private practices
per request.

Outside staff education is
offered for staff of other institutions who would like to learn more about
