About The Storybook Center

nce upon a time there was a little girl who loved to read and had an imagination the size of several Dr. Seuss' Hortons because of it!  She grew up having stories read to her throughout the day and especially at bed time.  The remainder of the early years of her life was filled up by her creative imaginary play and her ability to talk, talk, talk anyone under the table!

That little girl grew up wanting to be a writer.  While dabbling in the writing of literature she was shocked to find some who didn’t share her passion for books.  So she set off with a well established and revolutionary literacy program to create readers out of everyone from babies to great grand parents.

She was enthusiastic about the link between literacy and language so she began carving out a niche by creating and implementing her own Storybook Curriculum with young children and their families.  Today The Storybook Center, Inc. is the culmination of this little girl’s love of language and literature.

That little girl has grown up and is now the director of The Storybook Center, Inc.  Her goal for the center is to celebrate the successful development of young children’s communication with their peers and their parents through the enjoyment of children’s literature.

The Storybook Center, Inc. provides a wide variety of services for several different family needs.  We like you to think of us as a place for your late bloomer to bloom; a place where families can come together and learn ways to strengthen their communication skills early on with each other, a place for all ages - babies to adults - to try out signing and develop sign skills; a place where children can be children playing together, learning together, receiving language therapy together;  a place where children find their voices.
